NCC

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the premier youth organization in India that works towards developing character, discipline, leadership, a secular outlook, and the spirit of adventure among young citizens. Governed by the Ministry of Defence, NCC is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis and is one of the largest uniformed youth organizations in the world.

The motto of NCC is "Unity and Discipline", and every cadet enrolled in this organization embodies these values through rigorous training and community engagement. NCC not only prepares students to become responsible and patriotic citizens but also offers a platform for self-development and future opportunities in both civilian and defense sectors.

Through a blend of military training and social service, NCC fosters a sense of national pride, teamwork, resilience, and service to society — shaping today’s youth into tomorrow’s leaders.

About NCC at NIT Mizoram

NCC

At National Institute of Technology Mizoram, the NCC Air Wing functions under the esteemed 1 Mizo Air Squadron NCC, Aizawl. The unit was established in the institute with the aim of instilling discipline, responsibility, and a spirit of national service among the students.

The Air Wing cadets of NIT Mizoram receive training in a wide range of activities including aviation fundamentals, aeromodelling, drills, physical fitness, and leadership exercises. Through NCC, cadets not only get an opportunity to serve the nation in uniform but also develop skills that prepare them for real-world challenges, both in civilian life and defense services.

Currently, the unit enrolls cadets from various branches and years of the institute, providing them with a platform to grow physically, mentally, and socially. The program runs over a period of 3 years, divided into the Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW) categories.

With a focus on both military training and personality development, NCC at NIT Mizoram stands as a symbol of patriotism, discipline, and excellence.
